WFW acts for MDFT in a US$415m financing of (FPSO) Kikeh Project
Chris Lowe of the Singapore office of Watson, Farley & Williams LLP acted for Malaysia Deepwater Floating Terminal (Kikeh) Limited (a joint venture between MISC Berhad of Malaysia and SBM Holding Inc. of Switzerland) in the pre and post delivery project financing of the "FPSO Kikeh" to be Malaysian flagged and operational in the Kikeh field offshore Sabah (East Malaysia). The USD 415M limited-recourse syndicated term loan facility, for which Fortis is the Sole Bookrunner and Mandated Lead Arranger, is to finance the FPSO Kikeh project for MISC Berhad and SBM Offshore. This project in the Kikeh field, offshore Sabah, will be the first FPSO project jointly owned and operated by MISC and SBM in Asia.

The project entails the conversion, installation and subsequent operation of an FPSO solution for the Kikeh Field, offshore Sabah, Malaysia at a water depth of 1350 meters. The FPSO will be chartered on a long-term charter contract with a subsidiary of Murphy Oil Corporation. The FPSO is currently being converted at Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of MISC Bhd, in Malaysia and is expected to be delivered in July 2007.

Kerry Shad Participates on Business Acquisition and Client Management Panel at the UNC School of Law's Women in the Legal Profession Symposium
Kerry Shad, was selected to participate on a panel of experienced lawyers at the UNC School of Law 2007 Women in the Legal Profession Symposium held on March 28th. This year's Symposium theme, "Relationships in Action" featured prominent female graduates of the UNC School of Law who hold diverse roles in the private and public sectors. Ms. Shad participated with three other lawyers in the well-attended panel discussion on "Business Acquisition and Client Management."

UNC School of Law hosted the Women in the Legal Profession Symposium to focus on the contributions and needs of women in the legal profession. The interactive panel discussions offered attendees practical information to assist them with personal career development and growth.

With over 15 years of experience, Ms. Shad's practice focuses on representing private employers in connection with all aspects of employment-related litigation and counseling. Ms. Shad also regularly handles complex commercial litigation matters. She has represented clients in state and federal courts throughout North Carolina, as well as in South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida and Illinois.

Smith Moore's Brad Risinger Named to Board of United Way of NC
Brad Risinger, partner-in-charge of Smith Moore LLP's Raleigh office, has been named to the board of directors for the United Way of North Carolina (UWNC). The UWNC provides support to 63 member United Ways throughout the state.

Board members represent a variety of state constituencies, including donors and volunteers, United Way chief professional officers and key partnership representatives. In his position, Risinger will support the United Way 2-1-1 program, a directory assistance link to community health and human service resources throughout the state, and efforts to advance North Carolina's Housing Trust Fund initiative.

"Smith Moore has a long tradition of volunteer interaction with the United Way and this is a great opportunity to continue our firm's historic tie and to impact communities, and families, across the state," Risinger said. A veteran member of Smith Moore's litigation team, Risinger has been with the firm since 1996 and is a member of the firm's management committee. His practice focuses on product liability, antitrust and health care industry issues.

SHEEHAN PHINNEY HOSTS U.S. SENATOR AND 2008 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE BARACK OBAMA AT ITS MANCHESTER OFFICE
Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green hosted a private reception for U.S. Senator, and 2008 Presidential candidate, Barack Obama (D-IL) at the firm’s Manchester, NH office on Monday, April 2nd. This was the second time the senator has been to the Sheehan Phinney offices in recent months. The reception was an opportunity for members of the business community to meet the senator.

Alan L. Reische, a partner at Sheehan Phinney and a member of the Governor's Advisory Committee on Capital Formation, hosted the event. Reische has been recognized as one of the top corporate attorneys the state.

Salans advises A-TEC industries in the purchase of Gindre Duchavany
Salans advised A-Tec Industries, an Austrian group, within the framework of its purchase of the French company Gindre Duchavany.

A-Tec Industries is listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange and specializes in mechanical engineering, metallurgy and engines. The group is comprised of more than 10,000 employees in 16 countries and posted 1.6 billion euros in consolidated sales in 2006.

The acquisition was carried out by Minerals & Metals, a 100% subsidiary of the Austrian group.

Gindre, with 450 employees, has an industrial presence in France as well as in Germany, and has distribution subsidiaries in Great Britain, the United States and Spain.

This transaction is still subjected to approval by the merger control authorities.

Marisa Slaten Receives First Garden State Bar Association Young Lawyer Award
Riker Danzig is proud to announce that Marisa Slaten will be the first recipient of the Garden State Bar Association Young Lawyer Award. The Young Lawyer Award has been given to Marisa in recognition of her outstanding contributions as chair of the Young Lawyer’s Division of the GSBA.

Ms. Slaten, who practices in the firm’s litigation group, focuses her practice on the resolution of commercial disputes through litigation and arbitration. She has experience in a broad range of areas including commercial disputes, breach of contract actions, fraud actions, insurance coverage disputes, workers' compensation, and reinsurance disputes.

This award will be presented to Ms. Slaten at the Garden State Bar Association annual gala on June 2, 2007.

Ms. Williams is scheduled to receive this award on Thursday June 21, 2007 at Crown Plaza Time Square Manhattan.
