King & Spalding Advises on Privatization of Saudi Arabian Airlines Corporation’s Catering Business
King & Spalding, a leading international law firm, announced today that it represented a consortium of international investors, led by Injaz Projects of Bahrain, in the privatization of the catering business of Saudi Arabian Airlines Corporation. Under terms of the share purchase agreement, the consortium will acquire a 49 percent stake in the newly formed Saudia Catering, LLC, for approximately US$200 million.

His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, took part in the share purchase agreement signing on Sunday, September 23. His Royal Highness serves as chairman of the board of directors of Saudi Arabian Airlines Corporation.

The investor consortium includes the Al Hokair Group and the Al Fozan Group, both of Saudi Arabia, and Newrest, a Spanish catering company based in Toulouse, France.

The Dubai-based King & Spalding legal team was led by partners Jawad Ali and Benjamin Newland, with assistance from associates Wael Wahbeh and Patrick Campos, and from the firm’s affiliate office in Riyadh, counsel Mohammad Al-Ammar.

King & Spalding Sponsors Gas Storage Finance Conference
King & Spalding, a leading international law firm, will be front-and-center at the second annual Gas Storage Finance and Investment Summit slated for Houston October 22-24. The summit provides the latest intelligence on the current market environment for putting together gas storage deals.

King & Spalding is a gold sponsor of the event and six of its energy lawyers are moderating panel discussions and pre-summit workshops. In addition, King & Spalding partner Erik J.A. Swenson, an authority on the development of energy projects, is chairman of the summit.

Darryl Woo Named One of California's Top 100 Leading Lawyers
Darryl M. Woo, Chair of Fenwick & West's Patent Litigation Group, was recently named by the Daily Journal as one of the Top 100 leading lawyers in California for 2007. The San Francisco Daily Journal and the Los Angeles Daily Journal sought nominations of attorneys who are not only top legal experts, but whose practices affected state business, politics and culture. BTI Consulting Group Names Adams and Reese LLP Among Top 100 Firms in Mergers and Acquisitions

These findings, that comprise “The BTI Guide to Corporate Transactions for Law Firms", provide the most comprehensive analysis of the Corporate Transactions market ever presented to law firms.

The findings were based on more than 150 independent interviews with corporate counsel from Fortune 1000 companies who were probed on all aspects of law firm relationships and performances. Julie Skipper Heads YUPS of Metro Jackson
Julie Skipper, an associate in the firm’s Jackson, Mississippi office, has been named Chair of the Young Up and Coming Professionals (YUPS) of Metro Jackson. As the Chair of YUPS, Julie will also be on the Board of the Metro Jackson Chamber of Commerce.

YUPS is a networking organization of dedicated, talented young professionals ranging in age from 21-40 in the Metro area. The program is housed under the Metro Jackson Chamber of Commerce. YUPS seeks to provide young professionals with the occasion to meet and mingle with their peers, to promote relationships and help its members develop professionally while contributing to the economic development and quality of life of their community.
