Gust Rosenfeld Adds New Litigation Associate
Timothy J. Watson joins Gust Rosenfeld PLC as a litigation associate. He is an experienced litigator whose practice focuses on commercial litigation, including insurance, personal injury and professional liability. He has dealt with contract disputes, business torts, intentional torts, employment and consumer fraud. Watson has handled appeals at the federal and state level. He is experienced in all aspects of alternative dispute resolution. His clients are businesses and nonprofit entities. He is a panel arbitrator for the State Bar of Arizona Fee Arbitration Committee.

Watson has served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Ralph Adam Fine of the Wisconsin State Court of Appeals. He has also practiced under the Wisconsin’s third year practice rule in the Milwaukee County District Attorney.

Watson received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin—Whitewater in 1994. In 1997, he earned a J.D. from Regent University School of Law where he participated in the school's moot court competition. He is admitted to practice in Arizona and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Watson is a member of the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel and president of the Christian Legal Society, Phoenix Chapter.

Greenwade Joins Evans & Dixon, L.L.C.
Allison A. Greenwade has joined the workers’ compensation practice group of Evans & Dixon, L.L.C. as an associate. The announcement was made by Shari Lockhart, managing partner of Evans & Dixon’s Springfield office.
Greenwade is licensed to practice in Missouri. She has been a member of the Missouri Bar Association and the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association since 2005.

Greenwade received her doctorate of law from the University of Arkansas and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Missouri State University, where she graduated with honors.

Troutman Sanders LLP Adds Team to International Trade Practice
The law firm of Troutman Sanders LLP is pleased to announce the addition of eleven team members to its International Trade Practice Group. All were formerly with the law firm of Kaye Scholer LLP, and will work in the Washington, D.C., or Shanghai offices.

Julie Mendoza and Don Cameron, formerly co-leaders of Kaye Scholer’s international trade group, will lead Troutman Sanders' International Trade Practice Group. Other Washington, D.C., additions include Jeffrey Grimson as partner, Will Planert and Brady Mills as of counsel, Paul McGarr as an international trade analyst, paralegals Allison Carragher and Sara Dajani, and secretary Leanne Himmler. The Shanghai office will welcome both Judy Wang as of counsel and Victor Wu as CPA/Trade Consultant.

Cameron has been practicing for more than three decades, representing multinational businesses, foreign governments, foreign trade associations and US importers in litigation under US antidumping, countervailing duty and safeguards law. He assists in international trade disputes and market access issues, with particular experience defending clients in industry sectors that are politically sensitive. He is a 1975 LL.M. graduate of the Program on International Legal Cooperation at Vrije Universiteit Brussels, and received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University in 1974, and his undergraduate degree from Kenyon College in 1971.

Julie C. Mendoza

With over twenty years of experience, Mendoza has counseled clients regarding U.S. import relief law and U.S. customs matters. She is a recognized expert on the international rules of dumping, subsidies and safeguards, and has led training seminars for trade officials of developing countries orchestrated by the World Trade Organization. Mendoza is fluent in Spanish and has worked extensively in Latin America on a wide variety of trade matters. She received a J.D. from the University of Chicago in 1981 and a B.A. from Tufts University in 1977. During her tenure at Tufts, she also attended classes at Harvard University and the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico.

Jeffrey S. Grimson

Grimson has 15 years experience in the complex issues that arise in nonmarket economy antidumping proceedings and resulting appeals to the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has represented Chinese and Hong Kong corporations, as well as their U.S. customers, in agricultural, chemical, industrial and consumer goods sectors. Grimson has counseled foreign governments in connection with the latest developments in nonmarket economy trade proceedings. He has assisted clients in complying with due diligence obligations relating to U.S. trade laws regarding initial public offerings on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and with the application of Foreign Corrupt Practices Act requirements to commercial transactions in China. He received his J.D. from The Washington College of Law in 1992 and his B.A. from the University of Illinois in 1989.

Planert specializes in representing multilateral and foreign-based corporations in a wide variety of international trade disputes, including antidumping and countervailing duty investigations. He often counsels domestic and foreign clients on customs compliance issues, NAFTA origin issues, country-of-origin marking requirements and quotas. He is a 1987 graduate of the University of Michigan and received his undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary in 1984.

Wang is based in Shanghai, and focuses on international trade and customs law, with a particular emphasis on assisting Chinese clients in U.S. antidumping proceedings. She has been a member of the Shanghai WTO Affairs Consultation Center and is experienced in advising clients regarding cross-border investments, international joint ventures, and wholly foreign-owned enterprises. Wang also represents clients in complex commercial and international litigation. She received her law degree in 1990 from Sichuan University, Chengdu. Wang is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, and the Shanghai and Sichuan dialects.

Wu has experience in U.S. antidumping regulations and cost-related calculations and reporting. Wu was previously employed for many years by several major international accounting firms. His knowledge of China’s accounting standards and International Accounting Standards’ financial statements provide international corporations with the support to ensure compliance in every country they operate. Wu has applied his knowledge in many diverse industries, including furniture, lined paper, food, and banking. He is a 1995 graduate of the Capital University of Economics and Business and is an Associate member of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Wu is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.

Roy Alan Cohen Speaks at Various Industry Conferences Across the Country
Roy Alan Cohen, a principal in the Complex Tort Litigation practice group, has been invited to speak at several industry conferences this year.

He served as moderator of a panel at the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) Midyear Meeting in Pebble Beach, California, in late February. The program, entitled, “Lessons Learned from Toxic Tort and Environmental Litigation Around the Country," focused on the nuts and bolts strategic lessons learned by corporate America and their defense counsel in mass and complex MTBE, asbestos, benzene, and other types of cases that are surfacing.

Mr. Cohen also participated in a panel at the IADC meeting entitled, “The Trend Toward Utilizing Science Advisory Boards and Science Counsel in Cutting Edge Toxic Litigation.” The topic centered around a fascinating trend toward the use of Science Advisory Boards to resolve complex medical causation questions, whether it be in litigation, EPA proceedings, or for internal corporate purposes.

Mr. Cohen served as moderator and co-program planner at the Transportation Megaconference VIII in New Orleans, Louisiana in March. The Transportation Megaconference is a program sponsored by the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice (ABA TIPS) section. It is the first and continues to be the leading continuing education program for those involved in all aspects of litigation relating to trucking, providing attendees with practical approaches to transportation litigation, a national forum to learn from the experts, and an opportunity to meet, network, and exchange ideas with industry leaders.

On March 29, 2007 at the Emerging Issues in Motor Vehicle Product Liability Litigation, ABA TIPS national program in Phoenix, Arizona, Mr. Cohen presented on the topic of “Arbitration, Mediation, and Settlements.” This presentation assisted professionals engaged in motor vehicle litigation and dispute resolution to gain a better understanding of the current issues in mediations and arbitrations.

Mr. Cohen’s practice ranges from product liability and toxic tort to environmental and groundwater contamination to professional liability to premises liability to transportation and trucking litigation defense.

Anita Hotchkiss Elected to Four-Year Term on the District X Ethics Committee
Anita Hotchkiss, a principal of Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, has been appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court to a four-year term on the District X Ethics Committee. Ms. Hotchkiss is a member of the firm's Litigation Department and the Complex Tort Litigation practice group, and Chairs the Porzio Appellate Group. She practices in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels with emphasis on complex product liability, pharmaceutical drug and device product liability, and medical malpractice.

The District X Ethics Committee of Morris and Sussex counties investigates and prosecutes ethics cases involving New Jersey attorneys. The committees are made up of attorneys and public members. Attorney members investigate and, if necessary, prosecute grievances docketed with the committee. The committees are overseen by the Office of Attorney Ethics (OAE), and any recommended sanction is reviewed by the state's Disciplinary Review Board. Final discipline is imposed by the New Jersey Supreme Court, which reviews the recommended sanctions.
