Willcox & Savage Welcomes New Partner Brian C. Purcell
Willcox & Savage is proud to announce that Brian C. Purcell has joined the firm as a partner, and he will practice in the Virginia Beach office. Brian was formerly a partner with Williams Mullen.

Brian focuses his practice on general business matters, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, structuring of joint ventures and pass-through entity taxation. “We are very pleased to welcome Brian and his corporate clients to our firm. His experience in corporate and taxation matters will complement our current practice and he will be a valuable resource for our clients,” stated Robert L. Dewey, Managing Partner.

Brian graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1994. He received a M.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Virginia in 1995 and is a certified public accountant 1997 (inactive license). Brian received his B.S. degree from the University of Virginia in 1990.

Court Rules Religious Displays at Postal Outlet Violate Constitution

Matt Salerno joins the Cleveland office as an associate in the Corporate Restructuring and Creditors' Rights Group
Ulmer & Berne LLP announced today that Matthew A. Salerno has joined the Firm as an associate in its Corporate Restructuring and Creditors’ Rights Group. Mr. Salerno provides business counseling to clients, and has significant experience in a wide variety of matters including corporate restructuring, M&A transactions, bankruptcy and other related matters. He regularly represents clients in reorganizations including workouts, state-related insolvency proceedings, complex chapter 11 proceedings and other commercial matters.

Prior to joining Ulmer & Berne, Mr. Salerno was an attorney with McDonald Hopkins LLC. He received his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.

L. R. “BUD” ROEGGE RECEIVES LEGAL PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR AWARD
NALS of West Michigan (the association for legal professionals) recently bestowed upon L. Roland “Bud” Roegge its 2007 Legal Professional of the Year Award. Mr. Roegge won the award based in part on his participation in professional, civic, and charitable activities and his support of his staff’s professional activities (including participation with NALS).

Mr. Roegge is an attorney in the Grand Rapids office of Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge and practices in the areas of professional malpractice, business and corporate litigation, toxic tort, environmental litigation, and ADR facilitative mediation. He received his undergraduate degree from Grinnell College and his Juris Doctor from Northwestern University.

Shipman & Goodwin Attorney Honored by the Home Builders Association of Connecticut
The Home Builders Association of Connecticut has awarded it Distinguished Service Award to Shipman & Goodwin attorney Timothy S. Hollister for his work on the HOMEConnecticut proposal, which pursues innovative solutions to Connecticut's affordable housing crisis. Mr. Hollister was honored last night at the association's 4th Annual Industry & Service Awards Dinner.

Distinguished Service Awards are bestowed upon individuals or organizations who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to support housing and the programs and policies of the Home Builders Association of Connecticut. Other award winners include the Partnership for Strong Communities and Renee Main, BAEC and Director of Workforce Development, HBACT.

Terri Krivosha Participates in the MWL Attorney to Student Mentoring Spring 2007 Event
Maslon Attorney and Chair Terri Krivosha participated as part of a panel for "Making Connections Successful," the Minnesota Women Lawyers Attorney to Student Mentoring Spring 2007 Event on April 25, 2007. The event was planned as a night of inspiration and reflection on female mentorship in the legal profession for the students and their mentors. There are 82 student/mentor pairs in the MWL program this year.

The panelists discussed their backgrounds, practice areas, mentoring experiences during law school and in their career and how mentoring has been valuable to their advancement. They also offered suggestions on mentorship for students as they make the transition from student to lawyer. In addition, as Chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association's Women in the Legal Profession Committee , Terri was asked to share information on the SAGE (Self-Audit for Gender Equity) program.

Henson & Efron Announces 2007 Seminar Series
Henson & Efron, P.A. is pleased to announce its 2007 CPE seminar series for accountants. The firm's 2006 seminars earned excellent ratings and high attendance, and the full series will be continued this year. Once again this year, Henson & Efron is proud to partner with U.S. Bank to present the seminars.

The first seminars of the series will be held May 23rd at the Sheraton Minnetonka West and June 27th at The Radisson Hotel in Roseville. Attorneys Scott M. Hagel and Brian C. Stegeman will present on Advance Choice of Entity. Highlights of the presentation include tax and non-tax issues.

Chair of the firm's Seminar Steering Committee Scott M. Hagel said, "We are very excited about our 2007 seminar season and are carefully choosing topics in accordance with requests and feedback from attendees. Our relationships within the accounting community are important to us, and we believe these seminars offer useful information to accountants as well as their clients."
