Morristown 

Overall Review:  Riker is a firm that is falling behind: Associate salaries at the bottom of the market (last year summer associates were paid more than third year associates); meaningless bonus ($6000 for 2100 hours, but of course pro bono doesnt count!); no chance of partnership; no commission for bringing in business; no late-night dinner allowance; associates pay administrative fees on 401(k) (no firm contribution); when base salary of stating 1st years increases, the rest of associates salaries don't; the list goes on and on... A horribly cheap firm with very low associate morale.



Morristown 

Overall Review:  In addition to all of the above (with which I wholeheartedly agree), the firm has a dysfunctional NYC office which has no interaction with the Morristown office, and with, if possible, even lower morale than Morristown.

Avoid this firm.

Overall Review:  Suggest that unhappy people should go elsewhere. Good luck.

Overall Review:  NoNames, people like you represent the problem exactly. Associates are disposable at Riker- if someone has a problem or complains, they are told that they are "free to leave" and to find work elsewhere. Shouldn't the firm try to create an environment where associates want to stay instead of consistently reminding them of their ability to leave? Shouldn't associates feel that they are part of the firm's future instead of a disposable part of its present?

Salary & Benefits:  excellent
The Interview process:  easy
Overall Impression:  good


Morristown 

Firm Culture:  Partners and associates don't interact well.
Work & Hours:  Firm wants New York hours from its associates. Work itself is pretty good.
Salary & Benefits:  Horrible pay, given it expects New York hours.
The Interview process:  Standard.
Overall Impression:  This was, by far, the worst working environment I ever experienced. Partners pit associates against one another and are very petty. Very few associates make partner. THe firm has a high opinion of itself, which is good, given that no one else shares that view.


Morristown 

Firm Culture:  The firm culture is a bunch of ego maniac partners who have no idea that most of the partners bad mouth each other. The partners treat associates like step children and have no idea that the associate morale is so poor because they are too busy stroking each others egos. One co-chair of the firm cares more about making money then how his gorup is run or that people think he is a savage. If you dont fit in for one reason or another you dont have a shot at surviving and they will either not give you work or make it so miserable that you leave. The firm pretends to be a reputable firm but in reality it is being run into the ground by a bunch of partners that dont care about the associate and care more about making more money for themselves.
Work & Hours:  They expect NY hours and give you bus boy pay.
Salary & Benefits:  LOL - They try thier hardest to act like a big firm and pay 1st years a competitive salary and overlook the mid level associates and pay them several thousand dollars over a 1st year. The bonus structure is laughable.
The Interview process:  The people are much different to you before you get there.
Overall Impression:  Highly suggest going somewhere else. They have a great spin machine that makes you beleive that is such a great firm and you dont realize how poorly managed it is until you get there. The partners have no feelings toward the associates and care only about themselves and making more money for the firm. They wine and dine you until you get there then they treat you like a mule that just does there work for them. Go to a place that will pay you better and make you feel human.
