BiglawI am working for a BigLaw. I have been put into a practice area which
doesn’t interest me at all. This they said would be for the time
being. But it’s been quite some time now and I haven’t been
able to get back to my original practice area. Should I wait or put in a
word.

How long have you been waiting? If the firm actually promised you
that you could move back in to your original practice area, and it’s
been awhile, then I think you should say something. Of course, don’t
be too demanding, but a gentle reminder may nudge them in the right
direction!
