Dear Judged
SparklesI am an attorney practicing at a law firm in California. I seem to like
this woman at my law firm. She is not an attorney though at the firm but I
like her. Do you think I should approach her and get to know her feelings
too? This is the first time I seem to be scared asking a woman out. Maybe
it would work maybe it wouldn’t. Should I go ahead or simply find
someone at the bar? The only thing that scares me is that I do not want to
be the topic of discussion out here. Can you throw some sparkles on this?

Dear Doppiedaps,
I can definitely throw some advice out there, but it’ll be less like
sparkles and more like dousing a burning flame with cold water. If you
care about your future at the firm, it’s probably best to steer clear
of your crush. Firms generally frown upon this sort of thing, especially
when it’s an attorney dating legal staff, etc. This is of course
assuming that you care about your career (which I think you do, since you
care about people at the office talking about you); if getting some action
is more important to you and you’re not having much luck at the bars,
then go for it…just don’t say I didn’t warn you.
