People have been writing in a lot recently and asking me about work attire: what’s appropriate, how casual can casual Fridays be, how expensive their suits have to be, etc. And two thoughts come to my mind. First, when did lawyers become so fashion conscious? Granted, I’m a woman and expect these sorts of questions from other woman attorneys…but a lot of men have been asking about what to wear to work, too. You know our society has become overrun with metrosexuals when lawyers are concerned with whether their suits are stylish enough. And secondly, where are all these cute, metrosexual, well-dressed guys? They’re definitely not working in my building…I kind of wish they were. That might be enough to motivate me to get ready for work for a change!
