The smokers must be crazy
Massachusetts' Supreme Judicial Court ruled against tobacco giant Philip Morris yesterday in a landmark case. Philip Morris tried to say that they weren't liable for cancer deaths caused by cigarettes because anybody who would smoke a cigarette knowing all the health risks is just plain crazy.



The judge wasn't hearing it and ruled that the company cannot be shielded from liability by claiming their customers acted unreasonably.





This setback for cigarette manufacturers comes on the heels of a victory. Last week, the Oregon Court of Appeals vacated a $150 million jury verdict against the Philip Morris.
