Alston & Bird Adds Structured Finance Partner B.K. Lee in New York
Alston & Bird has boosted its Finance Group and Structured & Warehouse Finance Team by adding partner Boong-Kyu (B.K.) Lee in New York. B.K. focuses his practice on advising issuers, underwriters, and financial institutions on a wide range of structured finance transactions, including public and private securitizations across key asset classes.
“We are delighted to welcome B.K., whose experience will further solidify Alston & Bird’s position as a go-to firm to advise on structured finance and securitization transactions,” said Tara Castillo, co-leader of the firm’s Finance Group. “B.K.’s experience advising Wall Street banks and other international institutions across some of the market’s most active asset classes will add great value to the offerings we bring to our clients.”
Katrina Llanes, leader of Alston & Bird’s Structured & Warehouse Finance Team, added, “The addition of B.K. to our nationally recognized structured finance team is part and parcel with our ongoing strategic goal to expand our strengths across top financial markets, including New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and London.”
B.K. has over 20 years of experience representing issuers, underwriters, and U.S. and international financial institutions in a variety of public and private asset-backed securities offerings. B.K. provides advice to participants in structured finance and M&A transactions involving credit card receivables, data center revenues, automotive loans, pharmaceutical royalties, student loans, peer-to-peer loans, and solar assets.
B.K. has experience in CDO and CLO transactions, guides clients in setting up asset-backed commercial paper programs, and counsels banks and corporations in general corporate matters, tender offers, restructurings, and mergers and acquisitions, including FDIC-facilitated bank acquisitions. He has also advised Korean clients on matters relating to U.S. law, including the government of the Republic of Korea.
His addition follows that of Los Angeles partner Steve Blevit, who joined Alston & Bird’s Structured & Warehouse Finance Team last year.

The Structured & Warehouse Finance team is particularly well versed in ABS, CMBS, and RMBS structuring, acquisition finance, mortgage finance, consumer finance across a broad spectrum of asset classes, the single-family rental space, mortgage servicing rights and servicing advance financing.
